			Birth of a hero Big hurray, Rizal’s birthday will be a non-working holiday! A hundred and fifty years later and the guy’s still doing us a nationwide favor. Paying tribute our national hero, we take notice of the things that make Rizal da man, why his legend is even bigger this year, and how his name sustained itself in today’s culture. 	History lessons Amaya, the latest GMA epicserye starring Marian Rivera, highlights the warrior princess’ journey to fulfilling her destiny dating back to the early 14th century. The series also happens to be a hit with critics as well, thanks to its rich reference to our culture’s history. 	Sweet Kates Kates Ocampo, now fairly well-known among the FHM nation, still doesn’t believe she’s already famous. “Nung una ko silang nakita na-starstruck ako sa kanila,“ says Kates. “Ang ganda nila tapos I got to be with them. 	The Mean Green Machine The Green Lantern recently debut in theaters June 16, and critics have been hard on the comic book flick, disparaging the hero’s computer generated spandex, its viable storyline, and the popularity of the protagonist himself. We say better Green Lantern than any of the names in our lame emerald heroes list, some of whom we believe will never be close to getting a movie adaptation soon. Find out who they are here.
